Common Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

Who can I contact regarding my wait list status?

Please call (319) 483-5079 during business hours. Please wait at least two weeks from the date of application — whether online or in person — to check your status, to give us time to process your application. When checking your status on the wait list, we will verify you are on the waiting list, but you will not be given a number.

What is the current wait time for the program?

We are currently quoting 1 year or more from the date of application being received in our office to receive your top of the list letter for those who fit the preference. If you do not qualify for the preference, your wait will likely be much longer. This time frame is only an estimate and does not guarantee you assistance once you have waited the time quoted.

If I am homeless, do I qualify for the preference?

Not necessarily. INRHA gives preference to individuals who live or work in our jurisdiction who are elderly, disabled, or families with children. At this time, we do not have a homeless preference. If you are experiencing homelessness, please contact Cedar Valley Friends of the Family for help.

I don't want to apply online. Can you mail me an application?

Yes. We will mail applications when requested. Please call the office to request. If you get our voicemail, please request an application be mailed and leave your name and mailing address. You can also find a printable copy of the Preliminary Application on our Documents page.
