GENERAL TOPIC FOR DISCUSSION:
Shannon Fowler discussed the opportunity of co-hosting a show with the Illinois Reining Horse Association, and the Midwest Reining Horse Association at Gordyville April 27-29, 2007. The classes that will be held, total money, etc. are still undetermined. There was a motion made by Jim Hundley to approve this show and get with the other two clubs to continue planning. Motion seconded by Brose. The vote was all in favor, none opposed.
Shannon stated that everyone involved would need to try to get sponsors in order to try to have a Derby, and Brose offered to help her with this venture if Shannon would get him show info from the Breeders Cup Show held in March at Gordyville.
There is possibly a show facility being built in Greencastle in the next couple years and everyone will wait on more information as that develops.
The 2006 Year End Banquet was the next topic of discussion. The discussion started with where to host the banquet. Many options were discussed such as the Anderson Downs Racetrack, the Trader Point Hunt Club, or Ann and Gary Sailor’s facility. Angie Honeywell offered to do some investigation on the availability and price of Anderson Downs and then get back with the group through email. The two dates that were approved by the group were either November 11, 2006 or November 18, 2006 with the start time being flexible. Angie will contact the group with her findings.
The year end awards that were discussed by the group included the choice of a Buckle or Spur straps for the Champions, and black saddle pads with back stamped leather corner for Reserve Champions. The approximate cost for the Champion awards would be $110, and the Reserve would be approximately $80. There was a motion made by Angie Honeywell to approve the above awards and amounts. The second was made by Randy Fowler. The vote was all approved, none opposed.
Brose McVey and Jim Hundley were appointed to be the nominating committee for the upcoming elections. The offices that will be up for election are the President, Secretary, and two Board of Directors. The nominating will come up with a list of candidates and give them to the secretary to be mailed out to the membership
Miriam Farrell graciously volunteered to do the newsletter for the INRHA, and there were no objections by the Board of Directors. If anyone wants specific information in the newsletters feel free to get Miriam the information.
Ann Saylor reported that Jason Grimme has volunteered to let us use his facility to host a clinic in the future if we would like to. Randy Fowler and Shannon Fowler will do some checking with trainers such as Mike Flarida to see how much this would cost for the club to do and report back later.
Meeting adjourned at 9:00 p.m.
Next meeting to be determined.
