A brief meeting was called to order by Shannon Fowler prior to the banquet dinner. Shannon started out by thanking everyone for all of their hard work to make our first year so successful. Everyone in the association really stepped up and worked hard to help us get off the ground running. Shannon also reported that the Sponsorship committee raised $6170.00 in 2005. Considering the INRHA started out with $0 at the beginning of the year the sponsorship money was invaluable for us to be able to host the shows and have the wonderful awards that were very popular in 2005. The sponsorship committee will begin looking toward making 2006 even more successful.
Ann Saylor, Treasurer, reported that the INRHA currently has a balance of $6728.91. The 2005 year end awards cost $2138.14 with the buckles being $1387.34 and the jackets totaled $750.80.
Angie Honeywell reported that the website has had over 12,000 hits. She will try to make the website even better in 2006 and devote more time to providing even more information to the membership through the site. If anyone has any comments or suggestions about the website please feel free to contact Angie anytime.
Brose McVey volunteered to be the committee chairman for the Hoosier Horse Fair. If anyone would like to volunteer, or have any suggestions please feel free to contact Brose. He is also going to speak to the Hoosier Horse Fair officials about the possibility of INRHA trainers performing the reining demonstration. He will report back to the group when he has more information.
Everyone agreed the 2005 shows were very successful and there were many comments made about how much everyone enjoyed the shows. The INRHA will continue to work hard to be successful in the future, and build on what we accomplished in 2005.
The meeting was adjourned because most of our mouths were full of the wonderful appetizers, and dinner smelled so good no one could stand to wait any longer!!
